Help Kigali Kids will break the cycle of poverty by providing reading centers, books, teachers and supplies to help teach English to the children in Kigali and throughout Rwanda.

In 2025 we surpassed our goal and shipped over 40,000 books and supplies in Kigali and throughout Rwanda. We doubled the number of children attending our centers in Nyamirambo and Nyamama, and moved into a larger center in Nyamirambo to accommodate the children.

In addition, we partnered with the Africa Academy for Careers and provided post secondary level books to three universities in Rwanda, supporting the country’s 4x4 reform to quadruple the number of healthcare workers in Rwanda. Empowering youth through English education and community engagement will open education and employment opportunities, ultimately breaking the cycle of poverty.

• For every child to have books and supplies that they desperately need to learn English

• For every child to have a safe space and access to quality education

• For every child to have a career path that they can work towards after high school or college, including training and mentorship programs.

• To expand the number of reading centers throughout Rwanda, so that every village has access to the resources they need to learn English

• To provide housing and learning for young single mothers who do not have access to education or work

At Help Kigali Kids, we will support the children of Kigali in multiple ways.

 Short Term Goals - Immediate Needs

• We will continue to partner with Books for Africa to provide books and supplies to the Kigali Reading Centers as well as to the universities throughout Rwanda

• We will continue to raise money to provide adequate space for the existing reading centers so that the children have an indoor space to learn

• We will provide books, desks, chairs, whiteboards, paper, pencils and additional resources for the reading centers

• We will continue to support the teachers at the Kigali Reading Centers who volunteer their time after school and on weekends.

 Longer Term Goals

• We will provide water and food for our centers and most vulnerable families

• We will help the African Academy for Careers grow and expand their training and mentorship programs.

• We will work with colleges throughout the U.S. to create awareness of the exchange program opportunities provided through the Africa Academy of Careers.
